A young woman is warning others not to get out of their car if they learn that the road has been blocked with a compartment after a horrific experience.
Izzie Boyle, 22, was driving through Peckham, south London, in the early hours of the morning when her way was blocked by a wheelbarrow.
Posting a video on TikTok, she revealed that she got down from her vehicle to lift the blockade but as soon as she did, a group of people appeared from a side street.
In the footage, a blue colored bin can be seen blocking the side of the road when their vehicle comes to a halt.
Speaking in her video she said: “I was driving from Peckham last night at around 2am and I think everyone should know about it, especially the women.
“I found out, there was an island in the middle of the road and a bin on either side so that no car could pass through both the lanes.
“I thought it was just a prank so I went out to move the bin. As I got out I heard the rustle and I looked up and people were coming out from a side alley.
“I jumped back in my car and I thought oh my god this is actually a tactic to get people out of their car because god knows what’s the reason but whatever it’s not a good cause.
“So I just want everyone to be aware if you see a bin on the road or whatever, turn around, push it with your car, just don’t get out.”
Her videos have struck a chord with thousands of people online, with nearly 50,000 views.
One woman commented that she had a similar experience while driving in Croydon, south London.
Another said: “Adding this to the list of things I’m afraid of being a woman. sick of it.”
Responding to a comment on his post, Izzy said: “Honestly awesome! Others are saying they’ve seen it too.
“Hopefully enough people will be aware so that no one becomes a victim.”
police under pressure
Following his warning, the Met is placed under intense scrutiny for their investigative process and how they protect the women after the murder of Sarah Everard.
A woman was reportedly left to “tremble like a leaf” after being approached by a lone police officer.
Wayne Couzens, 48, was given a life charge last week for kidnapping, raping and murdering Sarah.
Pand used his warrant card and handcuffs to kidnap, rape and murder 33-year-old Sarah.
After being accused of murdering Sarah, it emerged that Couzens slipped through the net while co-workers knew she had contained her deepest fantasies.
Another officer working in the Parliamentary Security Unit has appeared in court today on charges of rape.
I fully agree that the public will also be very concerned
Commissioner Cressida Dickey
PC David Carrick, 46, has been suspended from the Met for raping a woman he found on Tinder.
Nick Efgrave, assistant commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, has accepted a check that was not done “correctly” when Cozens was transferred to the Metropolitan Police in 2018.
There are now increasing calls for the resignation of Met Chief Cressida Dick following the conviction of Causenes and the arrest of Carrick.
Speaking on the latest development, she said: “I am deeply concerned to hear today that an official of the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Security Command has been arrested and now charged with this serious crime.
“I fully believe that the public will also be very concerned.
“The criminal proceedings must now take their course, so I am unable to comment further at this stage.”
