The Bleachers perform on the main stage of the Governors Ball during the 2021 concert
Collaborates with such artists as Antonoff Lord, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen, FKA Twigs and others. Additionally, this artist releases music in conjunction with the band Bleachers. In 2021, the group appeared at the Governors Ball, a New York City music festival.
Billie Eilish, Post Malone and A$AP Rocky are among other artists performing at the festival. As one of the performers appeared on the main stage, Bleachers performed to a screaming crowd, with most of the attendees shouting lyrics to songs such as “I Wanna Get Better”, even some lighter ones. There was also moshing.
The Bleachers Play Their 2014 Hit ‘Rollercoaster’ At The Governors Ball Music Festival
After removing their denim jacket to reveal a Freddie Mercury-esque outfit, the band played several fan-favorite songs, from “How Dare You Want More” to “Everybody Lost Somebody”. Antonoff christened a “tristate girl” and spoke briefly about growing up in New Jersey before “Chinatown.”
However, before “Rollercoaster” was performed, a low note resonated from the keyboard, which Antonoff explained was the band’s voice. When writing music with that keyboard, the artist dreamed about “big guitars and big drums”.
He dreamed about the “big crowd” and he dreamed of performing at the Governors Ball. The keyboard cut, and Antonoff said it was the sound of 2020, but when the same low note returned, he shared that it was the sound of 2021 expected.
The cast encouraged fans to climb onto each other’s shoulders and then played their 2014 release. Bleachers shared another version of this story before performing “Rollercoaster” at the Shadow of the City Music Festival held in Asbury Park a few weeks ago.
Bleachers headlines 2021 Shadow of the City music festival
The performance would not be the first time Antonoff has appeared at a New York City concert, as the artist performed with Lorde during the 2017 set. However, during 2021, the full band headlined the Shadow of the City music festival held at Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.
Some Bleachers songs also explore the idea of identifying somewhere between New Jersey and New York, including take away the sadness of saturday night Track “Chinatown” featuring Bruce Springsteen.
Antonoff himself is a native of New Jersey. in one Video, he also sat in the Holland Tunnel on the border between New York and New Jersey.
Music from Bleachers is available for streaming on most major streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.
