On the return of the EGOT legend, she explained why she missed last week.
Why did Whoopi Goldberg leave the show?
Behar announces that Goldberg had called out Scene Because of her lower back pain due to sciatica last Friday. The co-host experienced this symptom before she was kicked out of the talk show for almost a week. Goldberg’s disappearance from the show was overshadowed by the viral moment Hostin and Navarro walked out of the show after testing positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Goldberg missed all the drama on the set of the talk show, and when she returned, she updated fans about her health status.
“I just want to say that I’m happy to be back at the table because I think I left you on Friday, something interesting happened?” Goldberg joked. “I have to thank the health caregivers at HSS because they literally helped me get back on my feet… I couldn’t walk on Friday.”
NS sister Act Legend explained that the “squishy stuff broke” between her ribs and she was in great pain. Hostin said Goldberg went into the studio on Friday and her “face was very red and swollen.”
Goldberg reiterated, “These are the health care workers who go in and do this amazing things and doctors and I can’t thank them enough because literally, I couldn’t walk.”
