Ri and Nan share a close bond. She says that they used to spend time watching movies together. Watched a movie with Ri Nan desire floats, starring Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick Jr.
Rei shares with her fans an unexpected moment of grief she experienced after ending desire floats. She says the film reminds her of when she and Naan spent movie nights. They make it a point to watch the film whenever it airs on TV. Ri says that when the film aired after Naan’s death, she started crying.
“I just saw it was today, so I looked back half an hour and turned into a sobbing, rumbling mess,” says Ree On instagram. “A totally unexpected, blue moment of grief… but also a sweet one.”
What Happened to Nan Drummond on ‘The Pioneer Woman’?
Nan passed away on May 24, 2018 after a battle with cancer. She was 74 years old. Ri posts heartfelt tribute to her mother-in-law instagram. “I’m not sure any of us know what we’re going to do without him,” she wrote. “She was fantastic.”
Rei describes Nan as the “rock” of the family. She was a source of power for Drummond. “This is a difficult loss for our family, as she was such a rock to all of us,” Rea wrote on The Pioneer Woman website. “We’ve all had some time to prepare for it, although over the past few days I’ve found that nothing really prepares you to lose someone who is the fabric of your family’s daily life.” So much of it.”

They had the option of filming that first episode of the new season as if nothing had happened, but the couple wanted to openly share what they were feeling in their lives at the time.
“This Saturday’s episode of my show was filmed right after Nan’s death,” Rei wrote in 2018 blog post. “When we usually film our shows, we document what is happening around the farm at that time. People who have watched our shows over the years have come to know Naan as well. So, We decided to dedicate an episode to one of the days right after Grammy’s death. We were all working at the cemetery, and we had a family lunch together. It’s sad, but it’s real. And we all put ourselves together very well.”
