Human remains discovered at Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve in Lemont, Illinois, have been positively identified as missing United Airlines executive Jake Cepholia.

“Friday October 22, 2021, the DuPage County Coroner’s Office responds to a report of a dead person at Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve,” DuPage County Coroner said in a statement Sunday. “An autopsy was performed the next day. A cause and manner of death have not been determined and are under investigation. A forensic odontologist has examined dental records and the deceased and positively identified him as 50/yo from Elmhurst. Jacob Cefolia. Nothing ahead at the moment.”

Investigators searched the preserve at least 10 times since his disappearance, most recently on April 1 this year.

Investigators have also sought to determine whether Cepholia voluntarily “went off the grid” or that there was some dishonesty involved in her disappearance.

Representatives for United Airlines did not immediately respond to Granthshala Business’s request for comment.
