Thomas Markle said he could sue Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to see their grandchildren.
The estranged father, who is yet to meet his grandson Archie, two and baby Lillibet, said the Duchess of Sussex was “childish” to bite him.
He revealed that “many lawyers” in California have told him that he can win if he takes legal action.
But the frustrated parent today insisted he would wait.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, 77-year-old Thomas said: “I would love to see my grandchildren.
“People in California have suggested that I sue to see my grandchildren.
“But I think if I did I would do the same thing Meghan and Harry are doing.”
He explained: “I don’t want to involve my grandchildren in this situation, I want to see my grandchildren around with friendly parents and friendships.
“I don’t want hostile parents seeing my grandchildren. So I’ll wait.”
Mr Markle, who has often criticized Meghan in the media, has not seen her daughter before her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
But despite hearing “not a word” from the pair over the years, they hope they can build bridges for the sake of their little ones.
Thomas told Richard Madley and Susannah Reid: “Eventually she’ll start talking to me. It’s so childish, it’s silly.
“It’s time to talk with each other, we’re family. The kids are going to grow up without knowing they have two families.
“It’s more than just me and my daughter now – it’s me, my daughter, her husband and two kids.
“Then it’s time to do something. To talk.”
