Ree Drummond shares her parenting advice for estrangement with kids
In 2020, Drummond shared a handy tip for keeping the peace in a home with five kids. She explained during an Instagram Live with her daughter Page that she tries to be hands-off but sometimes she can step in and brush it off.

“Fostering a child was never something I pursued or felt asked to do, but Jamar’s circumstances presented themselves in a way we could not ignore,” she wrote. “So, long story short, all of his six foot five inches showed up at our house one afternoon, bag in hand, ready to move in.”
He continued, “Ladd, whom Jamar had the initial idea to be with us, had met him twice during high school football practice that summer. My boys knew him too.”
When Drummond was talking about her newest baby, she admitted there were some kinks to work out, explaining how there were “difficult” moments.
“We’ve had some bumps in the road here and there that we have to address — but the same is true with Bryce and Todd, or any teenager,” she explained. “In fact, our own two teenage boys have become both a challenge and an advantage during this whole process. A challenge, because Jamar and Bryce are just a month apart in age, and there have been some natural turf wars and personality clashes that have been fought over. And I’ve had to referee.
