‘The Morning Show’ Season 2 Episode 1: Bradley Jackson wants to be in the evening news
Things have changed for Alex since the events of the Season 1 finale. As a result, she finds herself singing and dancing to promote the network’s New Year’s Eve broadcast. But who’s dancing with him? Her co-host is a new addition to the Season 2 cast, Eric Nomani, as played by Hasan Minhaj.
As the episode continues, Bradley learns that there is a sudden opening at the evening news desk and that she wants a job. So she turns to Corey Ellison (Billy Crudup) to express her interest. However, he is not receptive to the idea. Unbeknownst to Bradley, Corey plans to hire Eric. Meaning Bradley will be without a co-host and who wants to fill the spot? None other than Alex.
Fast-forward to New Year’s Eve in Times Square and Bradley’s standing when he learns that Eric has left the show for the evening news. At the same time he learns that Corey is not being honest with him. So she confronts him and the two have an argument just before the ball falls.

Where is Alex while all this is happening? Living in a secluded, spacious house in Maine is writing a memoir with your dog. She is chopping firewood when she is not sitting in front of her laptop.
However, when she sends a copy of her memoir to her editor, her isolated existence becomes a snag. His response is not very good. Alex is asked to write his own “fiction” about Mitch Kessler, as played by Steve Carell, who earned about $1 million for Season 1.
Then Alex gets a surprise meeting with Corey. He asks her to return to the show and she refuses.

On New Year’s Eve, Corey makes one last attempt to get Alex back on the show. When she is getting a tarot reading at a New Year’s Eve party, Corey drops her a pleading voicemail. He tells Alex that he hasn’t done his best work yet before asking him to call him within the next hour.
As Alex is leaving the party she overhears Corey’s message and returns her call. With tears in her eyes, she listens as Corey suggests she fill in as Bradley’s co-host until she starts hosting his own primetime show. As the new year draws to a close, Alex asks Corey a question: Can she trust him? He says yes, the clock strikes midnight, and moments later, Corey sees the Hannah Schönfeld (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) family suing the network for wrongful death after the events of the #MeToo movement in Season 1. is filing.
Meanwhile, things have not remained the same with everyone else. Season 2 finds Claire Conway (Bel Powley) studying for her GRE, not on the network. There’s also a baby on the way for an employee and a New Year’s Eve proposal for Chip Black (Mark Duplass).
