Target says the program is taking all the “stress and guesswork out of bargaining” by providing the best deals earlier in the season.

Target will continue to match select competitors’ pricing within two weeks of any purchase.

Target Chief Development Officer Christina Hennington, “It’s designed to give guests the confidence that they’re getting the best deals at Target.”

Plus, the retailer is also closing its “Deal Days” from October 10 through October 12. For three days, Target will offer online deals in the Target app and in stores.

Last year, Target’s strong sales streak extended through a pandemic-ridden holiday season after a hard push online and a heightened effort to provide options to customers trying to minimize risk. The retailer reported that online sales grew 102% between November and December, despite virus-related disruptions.

Just like this year, the company aggressively discounted prices in early October to kick-start the unprecedented buying season.

To support the growth in demand during the holiday season this year, the company announced last month that it would be hiring about 100,000 seasonal workers nationwide, about 30,000 fewer than last year.

The additional positions will help the retailer serve customers who are picking up goods ordered online at the store or picking them up curbside.
