Speed Find Tony Edwards is a cut above the rest – the fastest lawnmower ever built.
He hit 143mph on the race track before proving his machine could clip the grass to claim a Guinness World Record.
57-year-old Tony, who started his bidding in 2019, powered his home-made contraption with a 1300cc Suzuki motorbike engine.
The retired air conditioning engineer used a trike conversion kit for the front suspension and rear from a kit car.
Tony, who spent £30,000 in total, broke the record at Elvington Airfield near York at nearly 10 mph.
The married father of four, from St. Martin, Shrop’s, said: “I’m really amazed.
“It was a lot of effort and it took two years of work.
“My wife Jen really didn’t mind. It kept me out of her hair. I just have to do something else!”
