Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto and the GTA, calling for “significant” rainfall for the region.
The rain and thundershowers are expected to begin late Tuesday evening and continue through at least Wednesday night.

The National Weather Agency said the rain was coming from a cold front and a low pressure system over the US Midwest.
40-60 mm of rain is expected till early Thursday.
As the system moves further into this region, a rain warning may be issued for some areas.

Humid conditions will be felt in GTA for the last full day of summer, before heavy rains. Fall is coming Wednesday at 3:20 p.m.
