Princess Diana has a surprising connection to the Bridgeton family featured in the Netflix series of the same name. While many fans may suspect that Link is related to the story of young socialite Daphne (Phoebe Dievere) falling for and marrying the Duke of Hastings (Reggae-Jean Page), Diana’s fictitious family The connection is very deep. bridgertonProducer and showrunner Chris Van Duysen says that Bridgeton House, the home of season one heroine Daphne and her family, came after a visit to Althorp House.
Diana and her siblings moved to Althorp in 1975, when her father received the title of Earl of Spencer and where he remained until his death. The house has since passed to Diana’s only brother, Earl Charles Spencer.
He tweeted, “The interior of Bridgeton House was inspired by my visit to Althorp when I was developing the show. Elegance. opulence. And that #ladder.”
Diana’s brother Charles retweeted Van Duysen’s comment and added his comment.
“Just looked at it, below. Such admiration for those in my family who went before me, made Althorp House what it is today,” Charles wrote.

The stately home covers 90 rooms and 550 acres and has been in the Spencer family for more than 500 years, reported insider.

Near her final resting place is a monument with the silhouette of Diana and many of her quotes.

The second quote comes from the words of Earl Charles Spencer at his sister’s funeral.

When will ‘Bridgeton’ return to Netflix?
The book series has eight novels at its core, each centering on one of the Bridgeton offspring. The second season will focus on Daphne’s older brother, Anthony, in search of a Viscountess.
Showrunner Van Duysen explains what fans can expect an interview with diversity.
“We pick up Anthony when we see what he’s doing to his mistress. He’s thinking, ‘Was that love?’ Some will say it; others will not. We are once again exploring those concepts of duty and honor,” van Duysen said.
