Hot off the heels of their release “Steel My Sunshine”, Portugal’s The Man appeared at the Governors Ball, an outdoor music festival in New York City. They performed on the Bacardi stage on Friday, 24 September.
Some band members wore New York-themed clothing, including Zachary Carruthers, who wore a Rangers jersey with his name on the back.

When Portugal The Man took the Bacardi stage at Friday’s Governors Ball Music Festival, he made sure to include some colorful, creative and very “on-brand” special effects. During the concert, there was everything from two mannequins to a cartoon baseball player kissing.
Additionally, the start of the display a . resulted from Beavis and Butthead Cartoon, personalized with comments towards Rock Band. This wouldn’t be the first time these cartoon characters have said something about Portugal the Man. The band made their 2018 debut with the same clip featuring Beavis and Butthead. In it, the characters criticized the song “Feel It Still”.

For an hour, the band performed original songs including “Atomic Man” and “Modern Jesus” at the concert. There was also a cover of David Bowie’s song “Moonage Daydream” and Nirvana’s “In Bloom”. Of course, the band ended their set with their hit song “Feel It Still”.
