Ontario is reporting 715 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the provincial total to 579,584.
Of the 715 new cases recorded, the data shows that 440 people were unvaccinated, 44 were partially vaccinated, 175 were fully vaccinated and 56 had unknown immunization status. .
according to sunday report good139 cases were reported in Toronto, 59 in Peel area, 68 in York area, 56 in Ottawa and 68 in Hamilton.
All other local public health units reported fewer than 50 new cases to the provincial report.
The provincial death toll now stands at 9,653 as six new deaths were reported in the province. However, the health ministry said that one of these deaths occurred more than a month ago.
During thishandjob 563,535 Ontario residents were reported to have recovered from COVID-19, an increase of 708 from the previous day.
Active cases in Ontario now stand at 6,396. The test positivity for Sunday was 2.3 per cent.
Over 29,906 additional tests were completed, while 12,330 are still under investigation.
Ontario reports 245 people with COVID-19 (down from 84) in general hospital wards, 182 patients in intensive care units (down from three) and 161 patients in ICUs on a ventilator (down from two) did.
As of 8 p.m. Saturday night, 21,387,650 COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered in Ontario, an increase of 29,975. Of these, 11,100 were the first dose and 18,875 were the second dose.
In Ontario, 85 percent of people over the age of 12 have received at least one vaccine dose and about 78.9 percent are fully vaccinated.
