‘Munsters’ reboot director Rob Zombie reveals first look at stars

Rob Zombie is giving fans a peek at his reboot of “The Munsters.”

The 56-year-old musician and filmmaker shared a few pictures from the sets of his project on Instagram on Monday and confirmed several cast members.


The post featured actor Jeff Daniels Phillips as Herman Munster, Sherri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster and Dan Roebuck as Grandpa Munster.

The trio, in full costume and makeup, perched on chairs with their names in front of a huge, spooky and slightly dilapidated mansion, the iconic 1313 Mockingbird Lane – the home of the demonic family.

The post – which contained all black and white photos – also featured close-ups of each of the three stars in costume.

“Since Halloween is fast approaching, I thought it was the perfect time to meet the Munsters!” zombie written in caption. “Straight from the set in good old Hungary I present Hermann, Lily and the Count sitting in front of the newly completed 1313 Mockingbird Lane.”

Many fans took to the comments to express their enthusiasm for the project.

“Yeah!! can’t wait to see the performance,” wrote one. “I hope the movie is [black and white]”

“Yeah!!!! Just when I thought October couldn’t get any better,” said another.

A third added: “AHH!!! OMG!!!! HAPS!!!! I’m so excited!!!!”

The film’s plot and cast have largely been kept under wraps since the project was announced, except for a few behind-the-scenes social media posts from the director.

Zombie offered fans a glimpse at the mansion last week, sharing a photo of himself with the house in the background.

“Greetings from Hungary aka 1313 Mockingbird Lane,” he captioned the picture.

Back in August, Zombie shared a handful of shots of the construction site that eventually became the fictional home.

“There is now a paved road in Mockingbird Lane!” He captioned the post. “Things are moving and spinning.”

The director also hinted that he would use practical effects for the film, not only by building a house, but also with another behind-the-scenes post from August, in which an actor’s face is covered with the material so that he Can make mold of their face.

“Lots of Munsters Action at Ex Mortis Special Effects Studios Today,” Zombies written in caption. “These guys are working overtime.”
