Comedy legend Brendan O’Carroll stunned viewers of The One Show this week — after airing a swear word live.
The Mrs Browns Boys star joined his wife and co-star Jennifer Gibney on BBC One’s famous couch to chat about the series that will air the one-time Halloween special on the channel later this month.
However, when Brendan spoke about his popular show, Star came out in the studio with a rude word.
The One Show host Ronan Keating, who was engaged to her co-presenter Alex Scott, wanted to know why Mrs. Brown’s Boys had become such a worldwide hit.
Ronan asked the 66-year-old: “Brendan, you’ve had a special North Dublin humor and, you know – Irish Mammy – it’s been an international hit.
“Why do you think so? What’s the attraction?”
Brendan explained: “I think it’s, first of all, he’s hard as crazy – as were all of our mummies because they had to be.
“I think there are two things; she’d help you bury a body, you know if she had to.”
Brendan then went on to elaborate on his character’s infamous ways — and even managed to slot in a swear word in front of the cameras during hilariously funny interviews.
“Although she may be a bitch, sometimes, she just loves her kids,” he said, before getting emotional and concluding: “I think it’s a redeeming factor for her, she’s lovingly is filled.
“And his best friend is his best friend, and will always be his best friend.”
Ronan and Alex allow Extinction to allow them to continue, but fans of the show were quick to comment on the boycott.
One viewer joked: “Brendon O’Carroll to air a vulgar word live is such a thing.”
While another wrote: “Did anyone hear Brendan O’Carroll going full-on The One Show with Mrs. Brown? Such a funny guy.”
