It is a shocking moment when workers clashed with planks and crowbars in a massive industrial estate dispute over construction supplies.
A frightened eyewitness said fighting broke out in Manchester on Tuesday, with cars damaged and one person left “in a pool of blood”.
The person who spoke anonymously told Online that people were outside a cafe on the industrial estate in Newton Heath after noon when the brawl broke out.
He said it “happened around 12.30-1 pm on Tuesday, involving 12 men.
“I was told there was a dispute… [allegedly] There was something about paying for products, and about money, and it turned into a brawl.
“Two boys were pulled over, went to the petty merchants, and a man came out covered in blood and said (among the merchants) that he had been attacked with a hammer.”
The spectator continued: “Her face was bleeding.”
Horrifying footage shows a group of men thrashing a white van with wooden planks.
An angry young man shouts at the people in the vehicle: “Let’s f**k have the king.”
Behind him an old man can be seen holding a long piece of wood in his left hand, while he is trying to stop the blood flowing from the head wound with his right hand.
Nearby witnesses can be heard asking if the bleeding man is ‘okay’, while others suggest calling for an ambulance.
At one level tools are handed out among a group of men, who carry them along the road and also carve wooden planks.
A bystander can be heard saying “Whoa, look at the cars man” as a rattling sound can be heard down the road.
Others can be heard shouting from the background of the video as the van was attacked again, with its windows smashed.
At the end of the footage, it shows a woman bravely moving to defuse the situation – the damaged van eventually leaves the scene.
Two boys were pulled over, went to the petty merchants, and a man came out covered in blood.
The bystander alleged that “others came out of the yard to protect the man” from the yard, who was bleeding.
He also alleged that then the situation “aggravated”, with the occupants of the van trying to flee from the spot.
“When they left the yard, they were being chased, so they left the van, and the van was attacked and the van was in pretty bad shape.
“I stood outside with my food, trying to stay out of the way so I didn’t get hurt,” he said.
‘Van a mess’
The man said that the people who were fighting were “branding pieces of wood, crowbars, hammers, everything.
“It came from somewhere.
“Just the van that was hit – damage included windscreen, mirrors, it was a complete mess.”
The man said that a woman “shouted to a young man to calm down as he was intimidating cafe customers”.
They alleged that as the van was being pulled off the road, to flee the group, it collided with vehicles outside the cafe.
“The police arrived a little later, but by that time everyone had dispersed – they left as soon as they heard the siren.
“It could have been worse because they were branding equipment and builders lumber.
“Talking was [from the van occupants] About to bring a ‘gang’ to solve it, and then they are told to move on.
“A total of four vehicles, including the van, were damaged,” the person said.
Greater Manchester Police were contacted for comment.
