Thomas Markle said the Duchess of Sussex “changed” when she met Prince Harry and she “disapproved of both sides of her family a lot”.
The estranged father said he doesn’t understand why Meghan Markle cut him off, but insists things have changed after “connecting with Harry”.
The 77-year-old, who hasn’t spoken to her daughter in years, is yet to meet her grandson Archie, two and baby Lillibet.
And today he urged Meghan, 40, to “grow up” and make “talking time” for the sake of her children.
Asked on ITV’s Good Morning Britain why the Duchess kept him “at arm’s length”, Mr Markle said: “I don’t know what turned her on.
“She’s never been this way before and once she hooked up with Harry that changed.
“I understand that she is associated with the Soho club and a different group of people, but she has largely rejected both sides of her family and I don’t understand the reason.”
Thomas, who has often criticized the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the media, also said that Harry has “given everyone”.
And he insisted he wasn’t looking forward to his son-in-law’s upcoming book, due for release at Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year.
Thomas said: “I think Harry has left the Queen, his grandmother, the royal family, the British people and the military.
“He’s left them all.”
“What he does now is cycling around his neighborhood.
“It doesn’t make any sense.”
Harry and Meghan have signed several lucrative deals since leaving royal life and establishing their family home in America.
And he was ranked on Time’s Top 100 Most Influential People list last month after tirelessly campaigning around the world.
Thomas, however, insists that the couple do “everything” for the cash.
He continued: “Harry is coming out with a book and it can be nothing but cruel, and to insult his grandmother … it’s a ridiculous idea and it’s just something for the money.
“Everything they’re doing is for the money.
“It’s embarrassing to do this to your grandmother, who is 95 years old.”
