A man is fighting for his life and two others have been injured in a triple firing outside a barbershop in east London.
Police had received information about a shootout in Upton Lane, One Gate, just before 7 pm yesterday.
Three people were taken to the hospital after being shot – one of the victims also suffered a knife injury.
Police confirmed that one was in critical condition at the hospital.
The injuries of the other two men are described as non-fatal.
A crime scene remains and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
Police are still searching for several suspects and no arrests have been made.
Police said the firing was not being treated as an incident of terrorism.
Officers have been authorized a Section 60 for the borough of Newham by 3 p.m. tonight to increase stop and search power.
The Met tweeted: “#update | Police called at 18:59 to report shooting at Upton Lane, E7.
“Three people were found with gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital. No arrests have been made at this initial stage.
“This incident has resulted in a Section 60 authorization for the borough of #Newham. This is in effect until 3 p.m. on Saturday and gives officers more stop and search power to help prevent further violence.” .
“Of the three people, one remains in critical condition, while two others have been assessed as non-life-threatening.
“An urgent investigation is underway and we will issue another appeal once the preliminary work is completed.”
