A make-up artist has told how a “creepy” taxi driver asked for her number and asked where she lived.
Daisy Solomon said she caught a Bolt taxi and was horrified when her driver made inappropriate remarks towards her.
Through tears, Daisy said in a TikTok video: “I don’t usually come here like this, but I had a really scary experience with a taxi driver and this isn’t the first time.
“I just wanted to share my experience because I’m really shaky.
“I was in a taxi coming home and the taxi driver was talking to me and asked me where I am from, it is quite normal so I thought it was normal and I told him.
“And then he was like, ‘Do you stay back there or are you going home’ and I said I’m going home so I realized later that now he knows the area I live in.”
She said the driver would not leave when she got out of the car, and wanted to take her to see her home.
Daisy continued: “It’s really hard to know if someone is just being polite because a lot of taxi drivers want to have a nice conversation with you while driving.
“So anyway I started panicking because he said he had a house he was renting and he could take me there and see it if I wanted to.
“I was like, ‘My friend is waiting for me, I have to go home’ and he was like ‘Just give me your number’ and because I was nervous I said I’d take his number.
“I took his number and kept quiet but after a few minutes he was like ‘Oh, I still don’t get it’ and I was like ‘What got it?’ And he said ‘I’m waiting for you to call so I have your number’.”
After getting out of the car, Daisy again turned to a stranger and asked if she could stay with them until the driver left.
She said: “I told her I’d call her later and then when I got out of the taxi I ran into a random woman and I was like ‘Can I just pretend to talk to you while this guy walked by’ goes’ and he did not go away for a while.
“He told me he was following me for a while, I think he was staring at us but I didn’t want to look and eventually he left.
“Please everyone out there be careful.”
