‘Lamb’ is a psychological horror film set in a desolate landscape

Johansson and Rapace answer questions here lamb Q&A screening after the West Coast premiere. An audience member asked about the Icelandic location and how they immersed themselves in it. “Yeah, we found this beautiful place,” Johansson said. “We were looking for a farm that I guess, I don’t know how long we drove twice around Iceland.”
“He had made a little mud field, so he was looking for the field he built in clay,” Rapace jokingly said. Johansson continued, “I also sent pictures of this soil model to several farmers.” Rapace said, “It didn’t exist, so he had to compromise. (laughs)”
However, Johansson pointed out that last place is working in her favor. “The field we got was not like a mud field,” he explained. “But, it was interesting, it had a beautiful landscape around it, and there was nothing around. Nobody had lived there for 20 years, so it was the perfect place.”
Rapace explained in more detail where lamb Was filmed and his experience was on set. “It was shot outside of a town called Akureyri in the north of Iceland,” she said. “It’s basically in a canyon. It’s like an hour from the nearest gas station. When you drive into the canyon, our phone dies. Everything just dies. (laughs).”
Rapace continued: “You’re stuck in this environment where it’s like, we shot in the summer and it’s never dark. That was weird. It felt like we were logged out of this world and entering that world.” Gone where we stayed for the summer. Slowly sinking in and moving away from reality.”
