Users of Apple’s new Live Text feature are demonstrating how worryingly easy it is to use it to cheat in the classroom.
A viral video in the lecture hall shows how you can easily take a picture of someone’s laptop screen and then copy and paste their work.
You can also use this feature on foreign language text as it can be translated easily.
The Live Text feature works on an image already on your iPhone or you can take it directly from your Camera app.
Simply point the camera at a sign, menu, poster or anything else that has text or numbers and take a picture.
You can also choose an online image.
Then, touch and hold a word and move the grab points to cover the section of text you want to copy.
Then tap “Copy” and “Select All” if you want all the text.
You can then paste the information into your Notes app or wherever you want to save it.
Only people who have iOS 15 or newer can use this feature.
It is very useful but some people are not using it for good.
a viral TIC Toc The video shows how a student uses the feature to copy notes from their classmates’ screens.
The student is sitting behind his classmate and can easily take a picture of his laptop screen before using the live text feature to copy his notes.
The video has caused debate with some on Twitter calling it “genius” and “unbelievable”.
However, not many people approve of using the feature in this way.
an unaffected person tweeted: “People should pay attention to the class so as to absorb what is being taught and make notes.
“However, when you just take a picture and use the iPhone to copy notes, you’re not doing anything internal, you’re just moving your fingers.”
Others have pointed out that it would be better to ask to borrow someone’s notes and then steal them without permission.
