Recently, The New York Times released another documentary about Britney Spears titled controlling britney spearsAvailable on Hulu. The comments about the excessive security measures seem to have caught the attention of Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline – the father of their two sons. Notably, Federline’s lawyer said that if the “grossly unreasonable” surveillance claims are true, Federline would have the option to press charges.
‘Controlling Britney Spears’ Alleged a Secret Security Operation Behind the Stereotypes
Legally, Spears’ guardianship – controlled by her father, Jamie Spears – became effective in February 2008. According to Spears, she severely abused her power since she took on her role as the custodian of her property.
Now, sources in the new documentary reveal that there was a powerful security campaign around Spears at all times. According to the new claims, security members allegedly recorded her in their bedroom. Surprisingly, there have been times when she interacted with her boyfriend or children. And probably without knowing any of them. Reportedly, Jamie Spears hired “black box security” to oversee covert efforts.
Recently, Federline’s lawyer made a statement that his client is concerned – like many other spectators. Unsurprisingly, the details about the security measures in the Spears home are what worries Federline most.
Kevin Federline’s Lawyer: Children’s Secret Recording of “Kevin Will Be Upset”
Interestingly, Federline’s lawyer said that he could not verify the veracity of the allegations made in the film, but shared his thoughts about them. “It would be highly inappropriate for parents, let alone grandparents, to secretly obtain recordings between parents and their children,” he said.
So, according to his lawyer, Federline “would be upset” if the security allegations are true. He said “secret electronic eavesdropping” is a felony in California. Importantly, since Spears’ two sons are minors, they could not give legal consent to record.
Federalline is believed to be the decision maker on whether to press charges over any alleged issues with security operations.
A restraining order protects Britney Spears’ children from Jamie Spears
Currently, a restraining order that dates back to 2019 currently protects both of Spears’ sons against Jamie Spears. It appears to have stemmed from an incident during which he broke down a door. Then he angrily scared a child, who was 13 years old at the time.
Since 2007, a court has upheld the restrictions on Spears’ claims to her children. However, it is not immediately clear to what extent the restraining order against her father was included in the judge’s custody decisions.
Reportedly, Federline has legally collected 70% of their children’s custody. According to reports, as a result, the pop star pays them around $20,000 monthly in child support.
But Federline’s lawyers want the public to know that her client never used her children as pawns. More specifically, he claimed that whatever his client did, he did what he felt was in the best interests of the children.
A judge will decide whether Jamie Spears lives up to the conservatism hearing
Lately, Spears and her legal team have been trying harder than ever to remove her father from his powerful position. Her lawyer cited the restraining order and said that it should be changed.
The pop star has previously stated that his father is abusive in his role as mentor. As an example, he allegedly forced her to have an IUD to prevent pregnancy.
After increasing public outcry, Jamie Spears recently agreed to step down, but disagreed with the proposed replacement. According to PeopleHe doesn’t think he should be suspended. Therefore, a judge will decide whether Jamie Spears will remain or be replaced during the September 29 hearing.
Unfortunately, if all the allegations are true, he has already caused irreparable harm to Spears’ life. That is to say, she can never win back the time she lost with her kids because of her behaviour.
On a seemingly positive note, however, Federline’s attorney indicated that his clients would be open to re-evaluating their agreement with Spears if the guardianship is modified or terminated.
