JCPenney has added some stores to its list of permanent store closures.
The retailer confirmed to USA Today that the Greenwood, Mississippi and Baytown, Texas stores will be closing soon and are holding liquidation sales. The Mississippi store is scheduled to close on October 24 and the Texas location is scheduled to close on December 5.

JCPenney told Granthshala that both closures are unrelated to last year’s “store optimization” strategy.
“After these two liquidations, the current go-ahead store count is 670 stores,” the company said in a statement. “We have no other store closures to announce at this time.”
