It’s a terrifying moment when a Russian fitness coach drowned while trying to save the life of a woman who jumped into stormy seas off the coast of Spain.
Danielle Gagarin, 30, desperately tried to save 24-year-old Emma Monkkonen when she got into trouble in raging waters at La Zorra Cove in Torrevieja.
Spotted by Danielle who was next to her, Emma – also a fitness coach – jumped off the cliff in a daring jump.
She swam to a cliff and tried to get out, but got swept away in the ditch.
Daniel and his 24-year-old wife Daria are both heard shouting at him, trying to guide him to safety.
As he is tossed around, Daniel is seen jumping into the stormy sea.
Amazingly he manages to drag them both to the top of a cliff.
But in agony they cannot catch up and are washed into the fiery Mediterranean Sea.
In the tragic footage, Daria is heard crying hysterically as the pair is swept away at sea.
A major search and rescue was launched and the body of a Finnish woman was found about two miles from the bay.
The body of the Russian man was found the next day.
The two worked out in the fitness center of a gym in the Spanish resort.
Russian expatriate in Spain, Alyona Maas, slammed “daring jumps from rocks to abyss” as “completely reckless”.
“I want to say to adrenaline lovers – please find yourself safe activities.”
