Maura Higgins paid tribute to her best friend who died in a bike accident four years ago.
Andrew Rowan, 26, a friend of the Love Island star, died when his motorcycle collided with three cars in Co Athlone, Ireland in 2017.
Yesterday, Maurya, 30, took to Instagram to honor his friend to celebrate his 30th birthday.
In one post she shared a black and white video of Andrew cuddling a cute dog, followed by another pair grooving together as Christina Aguilera’s song Hurt played in the background.
The pair had a selfie together during the third night out.
Maurya said: “Not a day goes by when you are not in my thoughts.
“I love you so much and miss you every single day.
“Happy Birthday in Heaven.”
The reality star previously opened up about how much Andrew’s death has affected her, and even went so far as to “blame herself” for what happened.
Maura admitted that she believed that if Andrew had decided to go out with her that evening, she might not have passed away.
He told me Mirror: “For so long I kept thinking that if I had gone to dinner with him that day when he asked, he would not have been on that motorbike.
“My family kept telling me, ‘Maura, you can’t think like this, this was going to happen’, but I kicked myself for so long and worked about it for so long.”
Andrew, a popular Digger driver, left behind parents Tom and Margaret and siblings Thomas and Susan.
Maura and sisters Becky and Louise have great memories with Andrew as they grew up with him.
The Irish beauty pays tribute to her furry friend every year on her birthday.
Maura rose to fame in the fifth season of Love Island in 2019.
