first trailer for Hawkeye is out, and Marvel fans are baffled by what each frame could mean. He has already dissected every shot to find out the potential spoilers of the show. Some Hawkeye fans from the comics have seen some references to that version of the character, and for them, that’s a great thing.
‘Hawkeye’ first trailer out
Hawkeye released its first trailer for the show’s opening season on Disney+. Like other Marvel Disney+ shows, the first preview was highly anticipated by fans. While it highlights specifics, several elements of the show were revealed. For example, Hawkeye leaves his family, but promises to be with them for Christmas. holiday theme reminiscent of something iron Man 3.
On that note, the show takes place in New York City. However, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up on seeing Spider-Man in their friendly neighborhood. Tom Holland was not in the trailer and by all accounts will not appear on the show (unless a surprise cameo is in the works).
Most importantly, fans get their first look at Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. There is a lot of conversation between him and his new mentor. She also seems to be a skilled archer, much like her character in the comics. When the two meet, it appears she wore the ronin costume Hawkeye for the last time. avengers: endgame.
Beyond that, there’s nothing more than a few obscure action sequences that look amusing, but don’t reveal too many details. Of course, leave every moment of the trailer to Marvel fans. Some viewers have taken a closer look and dive deeper into the comics to find what they believe to be some interesting references.
Fans find references to ‘hockey’ comic
Marvel fans took reddit To discuss after the start of the trailer. One commenter noted that some of the scenes should look familiar to any fan of Hawkeye’s comics, citing the work of one writer in particular:
“Wow some of those scenes are straight out of the comic, which I highly recommend, everyone interested in this should read Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye.”
Fraction’s Run was one of the most critically acclaimed pieces of Hawkeye material available. According to CBR, it depicts Barton passing Hawkeye’s mantle onto the bishop (while still remaining Hawkeye himself) and includes “color coordination”. Anyone watching this trailer will notice the distinctive purple color present in the comics.
However, the presence of purple was not the only reference to the popular fraction run.
The trailer was full of Hawkeye trivia
This comic run gave the character a lot of depth, which made her tick. While the MCU adaptation isn’t exactly what we see in the comics, that doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of similarities.
For example, there is a brief shot of a dog carrying Christmas decorations in the trailer. In all likelihood, this is a reference to “Lucky the Pizza Dog” featured in the same comic run.
Another Redditor pointed out that Hawkeye is wearing a hearing aid in the trailer, with someone else pointing out that it’s also a character trait from the comics:
“Yeah, I’m glad they finally gave out Hawkeye hearing aids, because they’ve had them in comics for decades. I’m sure most people wouldn’t even know that Hawkeye is deaf in comics.”
If Hawkeye’s comics are any indication, fans of the character and the larger MCU are in for quite a treat.
