Sen. Mitch McConnell called the spending bill ‘a Trojan horse for sustainable socialism’.
Republican Party leaders are alleging that Democrats are using a $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill to implement a socialist agenda.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., tweeted, “Democrats want to spend trillions and trillions of your money creating programs that will never end and make millions of Americans dependent on the federal government — from cradle to grave ” on Monday. “This is the socialism of big government, plain and simple.”
McCarthy echoed the message of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., who accused the House floor last week of “exploiting this terrible but temporary pandemic as a Trojan horse for sustainable socialism.” effort.”
McCarthy also tweeted audio in which he claimed the spending bill would cost more than $5 trillion as the bill institutes “programs that will never go away.”
The Congressman made similar claims on Monday as well.”America’s Newsroom.”
“It will change the government as we know it,” he said. “It was interesting that Speaker Pelosi didn’t want to talk about numbers, to say that’s paid. It’s paid for by putting a debt on the next generation of Americans. That’s how it’s paid off.”
President Biden Saturday was criticized for tweeting that his “Build Back Better agenda costs zero dollars” and “adds zero dollars to the national debt.” In addition to Republicans opposing the spending plan, moderate Democrats, such as sans Kirsten Cinema, D-Ariz., and Joe Manchin, D.W.A., and Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla. also raised concerns about the bill.

According to a recent Granthshala News poll, socialism is attracting Democratic voters. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, a self-described democratic socialist who chairs the Senate Budget Committee, has championed the spending bill as a means by which to address wealth inequality.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki defended the measure, saying it provided much-needed programs.
“We are working to cut the skyrocketing cost of childcare, something that is preventing millions – or at least hundreds of thousands – of women, perhaps, from going back into the workforce,” she said.
“And we are working to take on the devastating effects of climate change that we are already witnessing that are causing terrible damage to our economy and national security.”
