Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes drinks coffee the night before every match at 11:30.
The 27-year-old Portuguese playwright revealed the superstition during a video where he was hanging out with teammate Jesse Lingard.
Talking to Lingard kfc youtube channel, he said: “The day before the game, I always have to eat something in my (hotel) room.
“So we have dinner, then after dinner at 11 or 11.30, I have to get my cappuccino.
“If I take my cappuccino and I go straight to bed,[then]I can sleep. If I drink the cappuccino and wait, there’s a problem.”
As Fernandes explained his unorthodox superstition, Lingard seemed somewhat puzzled.
And he interrupted the 27-year-old to interrogate him by saying: “11 p.m.?!”
Fernandes has started the season well for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, scoring four goals in 12 matches.
But he expected the team to have been a bit more consistent after finishing sixth in the Premier League table after a loss to Leicester over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Lingard has struggled for minutes since returning from his sensational loan spell with West Ham.
The England international has not started a single match in Prem or the Champions League.
