There are times when you feel so hungry that the thought of endlessly scrolling through your favorite food delivery app is a struggle.
But help is at hand, thanks to Uber Eats’ latest feature that allows you to search for a takeaway with an emoji app available anywhere in the world.
The food delivery app has added the option to search with 30 different emoji, from pizza to bento.
Uber hopes the feature will be useful for people who are on vacation, or want to quickly find something on their way home from work.
As well as adding the option to search by emoji, Uber has also added a ‘pickup map’ to show a list of places in the immediate area.
It said that the pickup maps were introduced after a survey found eight out of 10 customers craving a takeaway, only to find the nearest one was miles away.
After adding characters to the app, Uber Eats customers can now use more than 30 different emoji to find their favorite food.

The map shows everything where you stand, so you can pop up and get your food instead of waiting for the delivery driver to arrive.
Studying user experiences before the new map was launched, the firm found that users would switch to other maps, such as Google, to find places they could pick up.
‘Uber Eats’ new pickup maps address this issue,’ the firm said, adding that it also works with new emoji being added to the service.

In Maps, the icon will turn into a knife and fork-chosen food emoji, showing you instantly what’s available and where.
A spokesperson said, “While Uber Eats users could see what was available for pick-up just by scrolling a map, they can now use the new search function to easily find the dish they enjoy. want to take.”
The Map function not only lists places for pick-up, but also shows restaurants with dining rooms, so people can use it to find somewhere to eat.
The firm says this could prove especially useful when on vacation, looking to find a place to take a bite, or when working away from home in an unfamiliar area.
“For example, if you’re looking for pizza on your next trip to Rome, you can use the pizza emoji to search for what’s available,” Uber said in a statement.
New features include a map showing pick-up locations and the ability to highlight the type of food they sell by typing in an emoji.
‘The feature is also geared to help people who are on their way home from work who want to grab dinner quickly, or are visiting a friend for a social event and grab some party snacks and drinks. want.’
Also restaurants, grocery and convenience stores have been given the emoji and pick up map treatment, which can be discovered in the new pages.
