During an interview, Lana Del Rey said that many of her close friends are people she has never met, including Elvis Presley. The king of rock ‘n’ roll has inspired his art on several occasions. Plus, she revealed that she wants to do something more with Elvis than just take inspiration from him.
How Elvis Presley Inspired Lana Del Rey
Before adopting her current stage name, Del Rey performed under her real name, Lizzie Grant. During that time in his career, he gave an interview huffpost where they discussed Elvis. He remembered seeing an image of her once. Immediately, she knew that Elvis’ songs would become her personal soundtrack. In addition, she cited Elvis as a constant influence on her work.
This wasn’t the last time Del Rey referenced the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Del Rey starred in a short film called tropico. Elvis appears as a character in the film along with other icons such as Adam, Eve, the Virgin Mary, Jesus Christ, John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe. A snippet of the Elvis classic “Always on My Mind” appears near the end of the film.

Why Lana Del Rey feels so attached to dead celebrities
during an interview with struggle music, Del Rey explained why those figures were in the film. “I wrote a little monologue for everyone who came to the premiere tropico,” she recalled. “When I was studying philosophy my teacher told me that it is okay to feel that the people you are closest to are no longer alive. Sometimes it’s the best company to keep. It’s about people who pondered the same questions as you, and had the same life mindset as you. I was puzzled and inspired by that premise.
“I knew then, in fact, that my closest friends would be people I’d never really met before,” she said. “I was different and I didn’t know a lot of people who felt about mortality how I did. As a result, I feel a personal connection with the icons: John Wayne, Elvis. I loved I could relate to how nice Marilyn was. It’s hard to find girls who are as sweet and warm as her.”
If she could meet Elvis Presley, what would she want to do with him?
during an interview with RnBJunk Music, Del Rey said she would like to collaborate with Elvis. At the moment, she could not think of any other artist with whom she would like to collaborate. She also said that she wants to have a relationship with him.

The interviewer joked that Elvis was his “Million Dollar Man.” This is a reference to his song of the same name. Del Rey feels a connection with the “Can’t Help Falling in Love” singer from beyond the grave and that connection is a bit risky.
