Yellow Brick Road’s overseas tour reaches 2023
Elton John is postponing his European tour dates so that he can operate on his injured hip.
The 74-year-old singer-songwriter was due to play cities in the UK and Europe this year as part of the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, followed by shows in the US in 2022.
But he said he was in pain from falling on a hard surface in late summer.
He said in a statement on Thursday that “Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain continues to increase and makes walking difficult. I have been advised to undergo an operation at the earliest to be fully fit.” And make sure there are no long-term complications.”

He added that “it is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am forced to reschedule the 2021 dates of my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in Europe and the UK to 2023.”
He promised fans that “the shows will be back on the road next year and I’ll make sure they are worth the wait.”
John said he planned to start a US tour in New Orleans in January 2022.
