Drew Barrymore said she “won the lottery” when it came to her ex-husband’s new wife. “I adore the ground she walks on,” the actor and talk show host told the stepmother of her children during an interview with Dax Shepard.

During the September 27 episode chair specialist On the podcast, Barrymore opened up about her divorce and her ex-husband Will Kopelman’s new wife, Alexandra Michler. Although Barrymore and Kopelman split in 2016, she is a huge fan of Michler.
Barrymore shares her thoughts on how wonderful Michaeler’s addition to her family is. “He married this incredible woman, Allie, and I feel like I won the lottery with her — like, I really did,” the actor said.
She continued, “We’re going hamilton Together. I am sending them on their honeymoon with my daughter, Olive’s birthday invitation. Like, ‘Do you like this invitation? Is it good to go, to send out?”‘
Barrymore is thrilled to have Michler coming into her own life and that of her children. “I think I’m lucky that this new beautiful soul has come into our lives and I try not to be her best friend,” she explained.
“She knows I absolutely adore the ground she walks on and I’m her biggest cheerleader, but I give her space. We hang out, we have dinner, all the kids’ birthdays.” We can travel together,” shared Barrymore. “We find our way in a graceful, slow, respectful way. And I’m so lucky because she came into Will’s life and knew my daughters very well and very realistically, saw all the warts and all the hearts and everything in between and was literally like, ‘I choose you. ‘”
Barrymore called the situation “a miracle”.
“It’s a miracle and I know miracles exist because I was so devastated that our relationship didn’t work out because I wanted it.” [perfect family]”, she explained.

Barrymore shared that her divorce was difficult for her because children were involved. “I felt like I had a true nervous breakdown,” she explained. “When kids are involved, the stakes are higher and different than anything I’ve ever known. There’s nothing I’ve ever seen or done compared to the devastation I’ve seen and lived in for a few years at that place.
She continued, “I was finding it difficult to cope and I was smiling and I was lying. And I was in the biggest pain of my life.”
Despite the pain, Barrymore explained that she believes she and her now-ex “did a kika** job of putting our kids first and showing solidarity.”
The actor continued, “I’m very close with his family. We still vacation. I still stay at his house. I was like, ‘There’s going to be a divorce, but nothing’s going to change.’ And everyone just got on board and we did. And that’s a testament to every member of the family.”
