Voice actor Christopher Ayres, best known for playing Frieza in the anime series Dragon Ball Z, has died at the age of 56.
The star’s girlfriend Crystal Laporte revealed that he passed away on October 18.
The cause of death has not been disclosed yet.
The actor was best known for voicing the character of Frieza in the 2010 anime series Dragon Ball Z Kai.
Crystal paid tribute to the anime fans who had supported her throughout her career in a moving tribute.
He said: “My world has turned dark. Christopher Owen Ayers passed away peacefully near his mother, brother and girlfriend.

As the news of Ayers’ death broke, tributes poured in.

Japanese animation studio Toei Animation said: “Peace be with you Chris Ayres, a brilliant voice actor who brought to life many wonderful characters, including our Frieza.
