A doctor was among at least two people killed after a plane exploded and caught fire in a neighbourhood.
The two-engine Cessna plane crashed in Santi in the afternoon. california on Monday.
The plane took off from Yuma, Arizona But reportedly the pilot had an emergency and made a crash landing.
At least two people died in the horrific accident and the pilot has been identified as Sugata Das.
Das was a cardiologist and flew regularly between San Diego and Yuma.
Bharat Magu, Chief Medical Officer of Yuma Regional Medical Center paid tribute to the doctor.
A statement said: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the plane, owned by local cardiologist Dr Sugata Das, which crashed near Santi.
“As an outstanding cardiologist and a dedicated family man, Dr Das leaves a lasting legacy. We extend our prayers and support to his family, colleagues and friends during this difficult time.”
Facebook users expressed their condolences to his family as soon as the news of Das’s death came to light.
One said: “Rest in peace. you will be missed.”
While another commented: “We are very sorry to hear this. Dr. Das was a great heart doctor and we had the privilege of being one of the patients he cared for. May God rest his family, medical staff and everyone who knows him.”
Deputy Fire Chief Justin Matsushita confirmed that there were “multiple facilities” from the accident, which took place near Santana High School.
He said: “We believe that the injuries cannot be survivable for anyone on that plane.
“Not to be too graphic, but it’s a very brutal scene.”
A UPS employee was killed and footage from the scene shows a badly burned truck. The employee has not been identified.
The company said in a statement: “We are saddened by the loss of our employee and express our deepest condolences to their family and friends.
“We also send our condolences to the other individuals involved in this incident and their families and friends.”
The impact of the plane mostly hit two homes, but at least two others were also damaged.
Electricity was reportedly cut to about ten houses in the neighborhood as investigators were working in the area.

Air traffic control instructed the pilot to “climb immediately” moments before the plane went down.
Firefighters were tearing down buildings at the scene where the plane crashed after seeing huge plumes of black smoke in the sky.
It is not clear how many people in total were killed or injured.

The plane was traveling to Montgomery Field in San Diego, NBC San Diego Report.
Resident Lily Patch told the outlet that it looked like there was a “putter” in the plane’s engine.
He said: “You could hear the engine from afar. You could see it coming down and it crashed in full force.
“It didn’t spin, nothing. You just heard it and it came down. It’s like the nightmare everyone worries about.”
Officials said the investigation would be handled by the National Transportation Safety Board.
