However, the arrival of Lucifer and Chloe’s time-traveling daughter Rory (Briana Hildebrand) introduces a new story into the mix.

Fans Think the Netflix Show Missed a Big Plot Hole in Season 6
‘Lucifer’ Season 6: Why Did Lucifer Leave Rory?
Naturally, those hoping for a solid happy ending for Lucifer and Chloe weren’t thrilled with the progress of Season 6. Some fans even questioned what was the meaning of their separation. Although there is no doubt that the two would do anything for their daughter, did they? Really Need to go decades without seeing each other?
The whole point of Lucifer’s absence was to avoid a time paradox, but Chloe knew where he had gone. She kept that secret from her daughter for years, and she could have done the same while watching Lucifer.
Fans took to Reddit to vent their frustrations with the finale, and they found some discrepancies. One redditor Questioned why Lucifer couldn’t at least hold out for Rory’s birth:
“My own point was mostly the fact that, of course, they want Rory to grow up thinking Lucifer has disappeared, otherwise you get the time paradox, but there was no reason Lucifer had to leave immediately, Or at the very least shouldn’t be for her birth.. She won’t remember or know anything about her being that early in her life, Chloe can still tell her what she needs to hear. I don’t have memories of 3 or so years ago.”
Others pointed to similar solutions, wondering why Chloe and Lucifer couldn’t get along without telling Rory.
“It was only Rory she needed to keep in the dark,” wrote one fan reddit. “He could easily have visited Chloe without interfering with the time loop.”
Could Chloe and Lucifer live together?
‘Lucifer’ season 6: Fans wanted more closure for this character
So, could Lucifer and Chloe have found a way around Rory’s request? This is a tricky question because of both Lucifer’s character and the time-travel landscape. Ideally, meeting up with Chloe in secret wouldn’t affect Rory’s time loop in any way. However, there is a lot of room for error in that case. And even the smallest mistake can lead to dire consequences.
The bigger issue is that Lucifer remains the “devil of his word,” and he made Rory an oath. While he may have physically met Chloe and reneged on his promise, he always insisted on her honesty. Lying to your child will make him completely out of character.
Of course, one can question why Rory wanted him to leave. And Chloe, knowing only her time loop had to be sustained. In that sense, fans make a point. But time-travel plots will always raise questions like this. At least Lucifer and Chloe found each other in the afterlife.
