Nicole Scherzinger may be what the world knows as the leader of The Pussycat Dolls, but before her there were many who gave the lead role a shot. Before the burgeoning dance troupe made its mark in music, the pop music group had a successful night out at an L.A. club.
Over the years, all the celebs including Cameron Diaz and Eva Longoria had worked with the group. But there are some whose time as a doll rose to national fanfare.
Christina Applegate is an original member
Applegate may be best known for her role as Kelly Bundy married with Children But she is an original member of The Pussycat Dolls. The group’s founders, Robin Antin and Applegate, were living roommates in LA in the early ’90s.

It was Antin’s dream to put together a burgeoning dance troupe. According to the 2009 interview Las Vegas SunAntin, herself a professional dancer who modeled greats like Gene Kelly and Bob Fosse, spent several nights at Applegate’s home studio to carve out ideas.
By 1995, Antin’s dream had come true with the introduction of The Pussycat Dolls. Applegate would become one of the first members. The group performed in classics of the 50s and 60s, wearing corsets, and by 2002 were a staple at The Viper Room, owned by the actor Johnny Depp nightclub in LA.

By 2002, The Pussycat Dolls and The Viper Room were synonymous and fans from all over the world flocked to get a chance to dance and sing on stage with the group. Celebrities were no different. At the time, Stephanie, Aguilera and Murphy were already real superstars. Still, they wanted to capitalize on the popularity of The Pussycat Dolls.
Aguilera was in transition from girl-next-door to her “Xtina” phase. The Pussycat Dolls showcase was a perfect fit. To Days Digital, Aguilera, Stephanie, and Murphy rock the house with stripper poles, feather boas, and chair dance sequences with cumbersome moves.

During the show, Aguilera sang Peggy Lee’s “Fever”, Stephanie sang “Big Spender”, and Murphy danced on stage to perform “Björk.” Entin credits what appears to be a significant change in the group’s brand.
“I’ve always called it rock and roll burlesque because I started it purely as a burlesque-inspired show, but it started to change right before my eyes, it was this rock and roll with Gwen and Christina. The flavor became more organic. And that’s exactly what I’ve always wanted to do,” explained Antin. mtv news in 2003.

In 2009, Antin thought it would be a good idea for Kardashian West to make her sexy in The Pussycat Dolls. E!’s . was documented for keeping up with the Kardashians. Despite the reality star’s mega fame, she was super shy and even challenged in the choreography department.
Kardashian West had a hard time choosing a dance routine, so Antin created a special segment for her, which featured a bathtub. The future KKW Beauty owner will debut in Las Vegas to a crowded crowd.
“What’s going on in Las Vegas? I’m Kim Kardashian here in the Pussycat Dolls lounge,” she told the crowd. “I don’t know about you guys but I’m feeling really dirty tonight so I guess it’s time to take a shower.”
Dressed in a black and white one-piece lingerie set, she soaks herself in the water of the tub while dancing together. Apparently, Antin had the star show off his famous curves. Despite her nerves, Kardashian West revealed in an acknowledgment how fun the performance was, saying, “I’m so excited to finally do it. It’s all so unreal. I’m in awe of what’s going on right now.” I’m loving.”
