Florida police have received new information about the disappearance of popular YouTuber Gabby Petito.
Ms Petito disappeared during a road trip with her fiancé, Brian Laundry, who returned without her, leading to a frantic search for the 22-year-old that began on 11 September.
Mr Laundry, who lived with Ms Petito in North Port, Florida, has so far refused to cooperate with authorities. North Port Police will hold a press conference this morning at 11:30 a.m. EST to discuss the latest developments in the search for Ms. Petito.
Ms Petito’s mother, Nicole Schmidt, said she last spoke with her daughter on August 30, but because it was a text, she couldn’t be sure she was actually speaking with the woman. Earlier, on 23 or 24 August, there was a mother-daughter video chat.
Ms Schmidt said it was normal for her and her daughter to video chat several times a week. When her daughter didn’t check-in after Mr Laundry’s road trip early, she became concerned and eventually the family alerted the police.
