Patton Joe In. won a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for Playing the Role of jagged Little Pill. Former cast members Nora Shell and Celia Rose Gooding claimed that management forced them to delay serious surgery, according to Yahoo! Patton addressed this while accepting the award.
“It’s a strange time even for the awards,” she said. “We are in the middle of a reckoning in our industry. And first and foremost I want to thank my trans and non-binary friends and colleagues who have joined in the difficult conversations with me about my character Joe.
“I believe that the future of change we need to see on Broadway comes from this type of conversation that is full of honesty and empathy and respect for our shared humanity,” she continued.

Patton will return as Rachel Witten for season 12. His character is seen once again working as a companion to Eddie Reagan (Vanessa Ray) in the new season’s teaser.
Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin Reagan, tweeted, “Whitten won a Tony!? What!? Congratulations on the win for your @thetonyawards @jaggedmusical! @PattenLauren.”
Ray also shared a video of him standing next to Patton on set on Instagram. The crew is clapping for Patton and it looks like Ray and Patton are crying with joy. Ray captioned it, “This is what our entire crew is doing it out of emotion for our girl @pattenlauren. Congratulations on your @thetonyawards win!!! officer whitton [sic] There’s a star! @bluebloods_cbs #jaggedlittlepillthemusical.”
Other ‘Blue Bloods’ stars also won Tony Awards
Patton has joined a club of NOW artists blue Bloods Tony winners. Len Carrio, who played Henry Reagan, wins as lead actor Praisehandjob a little Night Music, And Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Gregory Jabara, who played Garrett Moore, also won the Best Featured Actor Award for a musical Billy Elliot the Musical.
It looks like the cast and crew are excited for Patton. Soon fans will be able to see him again as Eddie’s partner.
A teaser begins with Witten and Eddie chasing someone in their uniform down the street. “It seems like every week a random person is getting attacked on the street for no reason at all,” said someone.
“How do you stop hating people?” Sean (Andrew Terraciano) asks out Frank (Tom Selleck) at the dinner table. “That’s how,” Frank replies, “that’s what we do. We talk. We listen.” The teaser ends with Reagan having dinner together once again.
