Grande replaced Nick Jonas as a judge on the show for season 21.
Shelton, 45, wrote an OK Magazine article titled, “The Voice creator may replace Blake Shelton after Ariana Grande brings new energy.”
Shelton wrote in her text message exchange with Grande, “Thank you so much, Ari…thank you a f-king lot…”.

“Thank U, Next” singer Nick Jonas joined the coach cast of “The Voice” for season 21, replacing him.

Shelton responded to the news, saying that he was looking forward to a challenge to beat Jonas as a voice coach.
“The easiest defeat of my career was Nick Jonas,” Shelton said at the time, according to people magazine. “So I’m looking for a challenge. I think Ariana could be a challenge. I’m looking forward to defeating her though.”
The country music star has won seven as the show’s coach.
Grande said she was “honoured” to be included in the cast of “The Voice.”
“Surprise!!! I’m thrilled, honored, @kellyclarkson @johnlegend @blakeshelton to join you next season ~ Season 21 @nbcthevoice! [White heart emoji] @nickjonas we will miss you,” pop star tweeted at the time.
